Welcome to the Open Resource Centre The aim of this site is to support educators by giving them access to high-quality, up-to-date resources which support training and consultancy in the areas of: I'm an Independent Education Consultant working in the field of Supportive Behaviour Management, looking at approaches which focus on building relationships, self esteem and individuals' emotional intelligence, self-resolution techniques and independence. How to set up a whole school programme to build a behaviour support system which includes and copes with the most challenging 10% of your students How to implement subtle changes to your approach to dealing with student behaviour(s)
The aim is to help schools steer in a slightly different direction with the goal of reducing exclusions, isolation and out of timetable time, whilst building relationships with students, understanding of strengths and struggles between different personalities and teaching and learning styles.
Innovation in the uses of ICT in the classroom I have been researching the emerging techologies of the web 2.0, sometimes known as the read-write web and synthesising groups of components together so they have a use in today's modern curriculum and classroom. These technologies include: digital stories social networking blogging podcasting collaborative working conferencing video diaries
all these technologies are free to set up and use, so are ready for the classroom. I'm particularly interested in motivating and re-engaging students who may have disengaged or disconnected from the curriculum, due to feelings of failure or perhaps struggling with low literacy skills.
