I have been researching the emerging technologies of the web 2.0, sometimes known as the read-write web and synthesising groups of components together so they have a use in today's modern curriculum and classroom.
These technologies include:

collaborative working
conferencing

all these technologies are free to set up and use, so are ready for the classroom.
I'm particularly interested in motivating and re-engaging students who may have disengaged or disconnected from the curriculum, due to previous failure or perhaps lack of literacy skills.
